Spray painted dog can’t walk from abuse, makes stunning recovery with support of new friend

This is probably not the first time you hear this, but it’s something worth repeating: There’s a lot we can learn from our canine friends when it comes to showing compassion and helping someone in need.

Dogs are monuments of kindness, always ready to help not only their human caretakers but also fellow canines.

And nowhere is this more obvious than in the video below.

The clip shows Sammie, a 5-month-old boxer puppy, and a 1-year-old Border Collie mix named Simon. Although Sammie is still just a puppy, his story is an incredibly sad one. The pup was tortured and spray painted, dragged by a car, and was physically abused before being taken to a kill shelter where he was left to die.

Fortunately, an animal rescue organization managed to literally dragged him out of the hell he was in and offer him the medical attention he so desperately needed. Sammie was taken to Paws & Claws Animal Clinic where he met Simon.

Simon stood by his side throughout his recovery and the two became best friends. A photo showcasing their special bond surfaced online and it quickly became viral.
